Buterin is both the golden child of crypto and the recipient of some of the most profound criticism. For a little fun, he decided today was the day he wanted to dig up some notable tidbits and share them with his Twitter followers.

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has requested and received numerous examples of “the wildest and most insensitive criticism” of him on Twitter and elsewhere.
Buterin’s cheerful request arrives on January 14 tweet in it he shared some of his own favorite criticisms and revealed the softer side of Ethereum (ETH) creators. More than 500 people responded in the first fifteen minutes, though most were supportive of Buterin. At the time of writing his tweet had over 1,200 comments.
Among the four criticisms Buterin posted, was one from one user who said he “Looks like an alien.”

Vitalik’s father Dmitry recalls a rather simple conspiracy theory that he actually a Russian agent and Russian President Vladimir Putin are the people behind the creation of Ethereum.

While the Twitter thread talked about all the frenzied criticism Buterin had received over the years, most of the users who responded did so in glee. And ConsenSys alumni John Lilic pointed out that despite all the criticisms of Buterin, both real and comedic, he’s been “working to make the space better since near zero.” .
