Overwolf, the all-in-one platform that allows creators to build, distribute, and monetize in-game apps and mods, today announced an investment in SYN CITY, the first “mafia metaverse” game First built for blockchain. As part of the agreement, Overwolf and SYN CITY will explore new user-generated content (UGC) opportunities in the metaverse including creating, sharing, and monetizing in-game items.
Overwolf joins a growing list of meritorious investors in SYN CITY’s Mafia Metaverse. The project has raised more than $8 million in investments from Twitch, Project Galaxy, Animoca Brands, Huobi Ventures, and many well-known investors and VC firms.
In addition to the investment, SYN CITY is exploring the possibility of integrating with the Overwolf platform to enable in-game creators to monetize their creations in the future. Community-generated experiences are becoming an important part of the game, and SYN CITY believes this will be more important than ever in a P2E ecosystem where players already have an ownership stake in the game.
