The world’s largest NFT marketplace, OpenSea, hit a three-month record trading volume of over $260 million on Jan. 9. However, the platform’s all-time high was reached in August 2021. was $322 million in the transaction.
On the same day, OpenSea announced plans to improve the site’s reliability and support. The company will expand its engineering team to more than 200 experts, redevelop core parts of the platform, and reduce customer support time.
OpenSea generated $2 billion in revenue from NFT this year and received $300 million in funding.
The most successful projects on the market are the Bored Ape Yacht Club and the Mutant Ape Yacht Club.
Blockchain journalist Colin Wu report that, due to the popularity of NFT on 9th Jan, some users experienced lag and outage on OpenSea platform. One of the reasons for this is that NFT, which was released by a famous Chinese singer Jay Chou, has brought a large number of Asian users to the market.
