Mercedes NFT Creator Faucet to Celebrate the G-Class

The automaker Mercedes has enlisted the services of about five artists from the NFT industry, even as the brand wants to create a Mercedes-Benz NFT collection based on the G-class. Notifications are made through tweet by the official handle of the luxury car company.

Mercedes creates its own NFT collection

According to Mercedes, each of the five artists has been tasked with creating unique designs inspired by the G-Class. However, since these artists come from different artistic fields, one would expect that they would interpret the G-class differently.

Interestingly, the automaker has selected artists from fields including fashion, architecture, music, real estate and even graphic design. As it turns out, the artists selected by Mercedes include Roger Kilimanjaro, Anthony Authie, Charlotte Taylor, German Antoni Tudisco and Baugasm.

Meanwhile, Mercedes along with the Nifty Gateway will launch the NFT on January 23.

NFTs entering every major brand?

It’s important to note that Mercedes isn’t the first major brand to dive into the world of NFT. In fact, it seems that by far every industry has caught the ‘craze’ of these digital arts.

Recall June 2021, when McLaren revealed its plans to use NFT to create unique and rare versions of its legendary F1 cars. Just a month later, Coca-Cola also launched a unique NFT initiative to raise money for the International Special Olympics.

Now, while this is Mercedes’ first foray into NFTs, it’s not the automaker’s first foray into blockchain technology. The luxury carmaker partnered with blockchain startup Circulor at one point. This is for the purpose of checking and ensuring that throughout the supply chain all cobalt emissions are tracked.
